Freyja Inanna - Author
Freyja Inanna is a holistic grief guide, registered nurse, certified herbalist, psychosomatic therapist, and ritual practitioner with over two decades of experience supporting individuals through physical, emotional, and spiritual healing. Her journey through deep personal loss…including the deaths of her father, son, and son-in-law…alongside her lived experience leaving a high-control religious cult, has informed a body of work rooted in soul-deep compassion.
She is the founder of a grief and wellness practice that integrates ancestral wisdom, natural medicine, and trauma-informed care. Freyja lives in British Columbia, where she facilitates community grief rituals and women’s healing circles. Grief as Praise is her debut book and will be available on most major platforms by late August 2025.
She is also currently writing her second book, The Sacred Rebellion: Reclaiming Pleasure as a Path to the Divine…a powerful exploration of erotic healing, spiritual sovereignty, and the reclamation of the Divine Feminine. The Sacred Rebellion is very near to her heart, as it closely mirrors the journey of reclaiming her embodied pleasure and autonomy after leaving a sexually repressive patriarchal religious culture.
Freyja’s work is deeply rooted in the power of ritual, embodied presence, and ancestral remembrance. She believes that true healing arises when we return to the body as sacred ground…listening to its wisdom, honouring its rhythms, and allowing emotion to move through us in safe, intentional ways. Through somatic practices and earth-based rituals, she helps others reconnect with the forgotten languages of the soul…song, breath, movement, prayer, and the cyclical teachings of nature. Her passion lies in guiding others to remember who they are beneath the conditioning, and to reclaim the healing ways of their lineage as a compass for resilience, belonging, and renewal.
Grief As Praise: A Surrender Into Love
Grief as Praise is a transformative guide that restores the lost art of mourning and reframes grief as a sacred expression of love. It blends personal story, ancient ritual, embodied healing practices, and contemporary grief models into a soulful and practical resource for those navigating loss. Written by Freyja Inanna…holistic grief guide, ritual practitioner, registered nurse and psychosomatic therapist…this book is both an invitation and a companion: to feel more deeply, love more fiercely, and mourn more truthfully.
In a world that pathologizes grief and rushes mourning, Grief as Praise offers an urgently needed counter-narrative…grief not as something to fix or move through quickly, but as a devotion to what or whom we have loved. The book includes guided rituals, reflective practices, community-based tools, and personal vignettes that awaken readers to the sacredness of their sorrow.
We also invite you to join us for the Grief as Praise Online Program…a deeper dive into the healing waters of grief through guided introspection, ritual, embodiment practices, and sacred community.
Let this be your next step in transforming sorrow into love, and pain into praise.
We walk together.
The Sacred Rebellion: Reclaiming Pleasure as a Path to the Divine
The Sacred Rebellion is a powerful and poetic call to rise from the ashes of religious shame, cultural conditioning, and generational silence to reclaim the wisdom of the body and the sanctity of desire. Blending personal narrative, spiritual insight, historical remembrance, and ritual practices, Freyja Inanna invites readers into a fierce and tender journey of liberation—one that honours pleasure not as sin, but as a sacred birthright and a doorway to the Divine.
This book offers a soul-stirring guide for those ready to heal from patriarchal repression, awaken their erotic power, and return to the feminine mysteries with reverence and wild devotion. Each chapter becomes a reclamation…a sacred act of remembering the body as holy, sexuality as sovereign, and pleasure as a path to God. Coming to publication in 2026.
Freyja also has several articles published in Elephant Journal on various topics from grief and social issues to empowered sexuality…you can read her published articles here.

COMMON QUESTIONS +
How should I prepare for my first session?
Once you have completed the online application and scheduled your consutation, take some time to feel into your body. Note any sensations, pain, emotion that comes up and any thought patterns that arise and write these down. This is powerful information that will be explored during your session. I look forward to speaking with you!
May I have a support person with me during my session?
Of course, you may...as long as you will feel comfortable with being deeply vulnerable with that person as witness and can be fully honest about anything that comes up with them present.
